He was unmatched in both style and personality.

As Johnny became popular in Dirty Dancing, there were thousands, if not millions, of us who yearned for him.

Undoubtedly, Patrick Swayze earned his position as the guy that all women aspired to and that all men wished they might be in the annals of history.

But after spending his entire life in the spotlight, the adored celebrity passed away without having his big goal come true.

He said three things while he was dying, and his wife Lisa has been troubled by those comments ever since.

Patrick Swayze, who passed away in 2009 at the age of 57 following a battle with pancreatic cancer, is still sorely missed by his fans.

Swayze, one of the most recognizable on-screen hunks of the 1980s and 1990s, is best known for playing the love interest in timeless films like Dirty Dancing and Ghost.

He was a romantic in real life as well, and his marriage to Lisa Niemi lasted 34 years till his passing in 2009. This makes his real-life love story superior to any of his Hollywood productions.

His widow has spoken candidly about her last moments with Swayze over the years, including the final words he spoke to her before his terrible death.

For the documentary I Am Patrick Swayze, which premiered in August 2019—on his birthday and just before the ten-year anniversary of his passing in September—Niemi discussed her marriage this year.

Before he became well-known, she met Swayze. They got married in 1975, which was four years before the actor’s on-screen debut. When Niemi began taking dance classes from Swayze’s mother, they first ran into each other as teenagers.

In her autobiography Worth Fighting For, Niemi stated, “I was 14 when I first saw him. Patrick had a reputation as a Casanova, was buff and tan, and had a beautiful smile.

Yet it would be some time before the soon-to-be wedded couple’s love really began to blossom.

According to Swayze, if he started striking a pose or performing his Casanova routine, Lisa would turn away and remain silent. “We went on a lot of silent dates.”

Yet as soon as they began dating, their relationship blossomed like a real-life version of Dirty Dancing. Patrick understood that he had to keep Lisa. She discovered she liked him as time passed. And so they started dating rather quickly.

Despite Swayze’s extraordinary success in Hollywood, the couple stayed committed to their marriage. He was a sexual icon for girls everywhere and was named “Sexiest Man Alive” by People Magazine, but he never betrayed his wife.
