Kelly McGillis made a rare appearance in the media on Thursday in North Carolina.
The former actress was seen exiting a Hendersonville church while wearing flip-flops, an oversized top, and baggy leggings.
In addition, while showcasing her well-known shape and good appearance in well-known movies like Witness from 1985 and Top Gun from 1986, the 62-year-old actress barely resembled herself in those movies.
The actors made the Golden Globe winner larger so as to imply that McGillis’ broader, more recent form might be a result of aging.
The Winter People actress had essentially given up Hollywood for a peaceful country life, yet seemed content and in good health.
After earning her degree from the elite Juilliard School in 1983, McGillis made her acting debut in the comedy-drama Reuben, Reuben.

Two years later, she co-starred with Harrison Ford as an Amish widow in Peter Weir’s tense drama Witness, which was her big break.
In the year that followed Top Gun, she rose to fame.
She portrayed Pete “Maverick” Mitchell, played by Tom Cruise, who Charlotte “Charlie” Blackwood, an astronomer and professor, falls in love with.
The film’s $15 million production expense did not prevent it from grossing $356 million worldwide.
McGillis played the defense attorney for a rape victim in the 1988 movie The Accused, which starred Jodie Foster and won Foster the Best Actress Oscar.
When the movie originally came out, McGillis felt compelled to share her story of being raped by two strangers since she had experienced a similar situation to Foster’s character.

For the first two weeks following the incident, I was unable to eat or sleep. McGillis admitted to People in 1988 that he was always twitching. I couldn’t control my frantic breathing.
The author claimed that after the project was over, “it seemed as though a monster had been exorcised.” But I still found it difficult to tell my story in front of others because I was so afraid.
McGillis struggled to find work in television movies after The Accused and acted in critically panned movies including North.
At some point, she had to come clean about her drug use and covert homosexuality, which had a negative impact on her personal life as well.
But she and her two girls discovered that fitting in was fun after moving to Pennsylvania in 2002.

McGillis currently occasionally acts after roles in the Showtime drama The L-Word and the vampire movie Stake Land.
The 2020 release of the Top Gun: Maverick sequel is eagerly anticipated by viewers of the original Top Gun.
In this follow-up, Cruise returns as the hotshot pilot alongside Miles Teller, Val Kilmer, Jon Hamm, and Jennifer Connelly.
