80s music star who wrote iconic hits passed away

NO MORE LEGEND Chris Cross, 71, was a musician for the band Ultravox.

His devastated bandmate Midge Ure paid emotional tribute to him.

Chris Cross, a member of the band Ultravox, has died at the age of 71. His sad bandmates have written touching tributes to him.

The well-known 80s musician, whose real name was Chris Allen, passed away last night.

Ex-bandmate Midge Ure said that Chris, who played bass, was “the glue that held the band together” in a touching tribute.

“We worked together, played together, made music and videos together,” he wrote.

“We became friends right away and also worked together at Ultravox.” Even though we hadn’t seen each other in years, we were able to pick up right where we left off. You were the band’s glue.

“You made sense out of the chaos and chaos in our lives.” It was fun to get to know you and grow with you. Old friend, we love and miss you.

Chris was born in London on July 14, 1952. In 1974, he started the Tiger Lily band with Dennis Leigh on vocals and Stevie Shears on guitar. This group would go on to become the famous 80s band Ultravox.

Later, drummer Warren Cann and William Currie, aka Billy Currie, were let in.

The Rolling Stones, the late-era Beatles, and glam bands like David Bowie and the New York Dolls all gave them ideas.

The group became famous after their first big hit, Ultravox!, and then they reached new heights with their fourth album, Vienna. By that time, Midge Ure had joined the band.

Fans were thrilled when the band got back together for a reunion tour in 2009 and put out their last album, Brilliant.

Artists like Desmond Dekker and bands like the Small Faces got Chris interested in music when he was young.

He started playing with other people in groups near Tottenham. Later, he joined Stoned Rose, which also had Pete Hughes and Mick Carroll, who later formed Ritzi.

Chris also put a lot of effort into his education. He chose to study psychology in college.

Fans who were very sad have also paid their respects to the music icon.

One person wrote, “Ultravox’s ‘All Stood Still’ was the second single I bought for myself, and I’ve loved them ever since.” Chris Cross, rest in peace.”

“Incredibly sad news of the death of Chris Cross, bass player for Ultravox,” said someone else.

“The version with John Foxx in the 1970s was one of my favorite bands.”

“I’m so sorry to hear that Chris Cross has died. “He was an important part of both versions of Ultravox and a great musician who will be missed,” said another fan.

“Chris Allen is gone. That’s tough to handle. Ultravox were a big part of my childhood. “Rest in peace, Chris,” agreed a fourth.

“Such sad news,” one fan wrote. I’m very sorry for Chris’s friends and family’s loss. Chris, take it easy.
