In Hollywood, divorce rates are higher than those of stable relationships, as we’ve recently observed everywhere. Some relationships, like the one between Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, last for a very long period. Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick are one of these couples.
Kyra first met Kevin Bacon when she was just twelve years old. After watching a film with Bacon with her brother, she met him.
Their paths were intended to cross again ten years later, on the set of Lemon Sky. Bacon was initially not Kyra’s type, she claimed: “He definitely wasn’t my type. After our first encounter, I can still clearly recall staring at his butt and muttering, “Well, I guess some girls like that.”
But the two became deeply in love, and in 1988 they got married.
The couple celebrated their anniversary after 34 years of marriage. They welcomed Travis Sedgwick Bacon and Sosie Ruth, their two adorably cute sons.
In an interview with Redbook in 2008, Kyra said, “If someone had told me that at 22, I would meet the man I would marry and that at 23, I would marry him and have a child, I would have told them they were out of their mind.”
Bacon regularly expresses his gratitude for Kyra in the captions of his social media posts.
However, things weren’t always happy in their relationship.
