After she became disabled, her 14-year husband abandoned her, but happily, she recovered and found a new love.
After suffering a stroke, doctors predicted that Riona Kelly would never be able to walk again. However, with the help of her attractive personal trainer boyfriend, she has made an amazing recovery.
She was admitted to the hospital after suffering a vertebral stroke in March 2015 that left her paralyzed from the waist down. The 37-year-old man is from Halifax, Yorkshire, 200 miles north of London.
Kelly reports that her husband ended their marriage five days into her hospital stay.
Leighanra, Caleb, Izabela, and Logan, who are ages 16, 11, 9, and 5, were also being supported by the couple.

Kelly recalled, “After my husband left me in the hospital, my friend Sarah took over as my next of kin, and she and the kids helped me through my recovery.
I now realize that I was miserable in my marriage despite the fact that we had established a life together and had obligations.
I needed my husband at that very second.
Kelly’s doctors informed her that she would never fully recover because she could still not move her legs after six weeks.
Kelly asserted that the medical professionals had informed her that she would never be able to walk normally again.
They suggested that the issues with my spine may have been caused by my recent vehicle accident, which occurred 18 months ago.

The mother found it challenging to get used to living in a wheelchair, especially because her husband was not at her side.
She claimed that she felt like everyone was watching her the first time she used a wheelchair.
I didn’t want to live, therefore if I had the chance, I would have killed myself.
After several hours of physical therapy, Kelly finally made it onto the parallel bar and took her first steps.
She asserted that, despite the fact that I was struggling and had no feeling in my legs, I didn’t care as long as I was making progress.
My consultant couldn’t comprehend how I had used a standing frame since he was overcome with emotion.
After spending four months in the hospital, I gradually regained my strength and was eventually allowed to return home.
I completed it for my kids in a total of 50 minutes, spending 25 minutes climbing 16 steps and another 25 minutes down them.
Kelly met 35-year-old personal trainer Keith Mason while she was recovering.

The two immediately fell in love after working through their physiotherapy sessions together.
After her stroke, Kelly remarked, “I had to deal with paralysis in addition to losing my companion of 14 years.”
Following our meeting, Keith and I stayed in touch. He would inquire about my well-being, and our relationship would grow from there.
The kids adore him, and we’ve been dating for 11 months. I believe I am at last enjoying the life I deserve.
Kelly has since finished two marathons in a wheelchair and is now able to walk by herself.
I try to just use my wheelchair on long outings because my home hasn’t been modified.
In retrospect, going through what I did was the best idea I’ve ever had.

I’ve started working out again, and with Keith’s assistance, I’m getting better and stronger than before.
“I didn’t tell Riona I wanted a divorce while she was in the hospital; I told Riona the morning before her stroke,” said Riona’s ex-husband Richard in response.
Because I had to take care of the kids, maintain the house, and operate a business, I tried to visit her in the hospital as much as I could at night.
Riona and I have since broken up because I made the decision to leave the residence in June of last year after living there up until then.
