Beloved star fell in his bathroom and died. What police found at the scene is very sad.

TMZ says that fitness coach “Richard” Simmons has died.

He was 76 years old.

People in the 1980s knew Simmons, whose real name was Milton Teagle, for his flashy fitness tapes and DVDs.

The death may have been caused by a fall he had in his bathroom last night, according to the police.

According to TMZ, police were called by Simmons’ housekeeper before 10 a.m. and pronounced the star dead when they arrived.

At this point, no foul play is thought to have happened, and the death is being looked into as a natural one.

Simmons died after he said he was “happy to be alive.”

Simmons told People: “I am thankful that I am here, that I am alive for another day.” This was before his birthday.

“I’ll spend my birthday doing what I do every day, which is to help people.”

TMZ said that Simmons’ body was found at his home early Saturday morning.

An old interview comes up again
As Simmons’s fans continue to honor him, a clip from an interview he did with sex therapist Dr. Ruth Westheimer in 1985 has come to light again. Westheimer died the day before Simmons.

The fitness instructor and doctor talk about fitness, cutting calories, and family relationships in the video.

“Well we lost two sweet souls today,” one fan wrote under the X interview clip.

“May these two rest in peace for all the good they did for the people who looked to them for help.”

Fans honor the
Simmons wrote, “Hello gorgeous!” on Facebook in what must have been a planned post. “Please don’t ruin my party.”

Fans wrote a lot of comments about how sorry they were for his family’s loss and how much they will miss him.

“Richard, you did so much good in the world. You helped a lot of people. One fan wrote, “I really believe that you lived your life with such a strong desire to help others.”

“My thoughts are with your family, friends, and everyone you love right now. I’m shocked beyond words right now. “Rest in peace.”

In a long Facebook post on March 19, 2024, Richard said he had been diagnosed with skin cancer.

“He sat in his chair and looked at me through a mirror that was eight times bigger.” He said, “He’ll have to scrape it off and look at it under a microscope.”

“I’m getting a little scared now.” After about 20 minutes, he comes back and says the C word. “I told you that you have cancer.””

His cancer was found to be basal cell carcinoma, which is the most common type of skin cancer.
