One of the few people in the entire world who can get away with just their first name is Cher. Given that she is undoubtedly a successful singer, have you ever wondered where she acquired her amazing singing voice and strong stage presence? Her mother had given it to her.
Cher’s mother, Georgia Holt, was born in the state of Arkansas in 1926. She made several acting appearances in movies and TV shows during the 1950s, including “I Love Lucy” and “The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet.” She also recorded an album called “Honky Tonk Woman” with the same musicians who backed Elvis Presley in 1980, but the album wasn’t released until 2013 despite though it was recorded at that time.
Also, Cher took part in the 2013 filming of the “Dear Mom, Love Cher” documentary, which explored her connection with her mother. The documentary, which aired on Lifetime, chronicled Holt’s life from her early years up until the moment she gave birth to a kid.

Holt has experienced some health concerns recently. Cher disclosed on her Instagram page in September that her mother had been “Sick Off and On” and was battling pneumonia.
Cher is about to reveal some much more terrible news. It’s too late for her mother to be saved. “Mom has passed away,” she wrote in an Instagram post.
In her statement, Cher did not give a reason for her passing. Her mother was 96 years old and still going strong.
Several people contacted Cher to offer their sincere sympathies after hearing the awful news. For instance, Hillary Clinton posted on her Twitter page, “Very sad for your loss, my friend. I have you on my mind and am sending you all of the world’s love.
Oh @cher, read the tweet from actress Marg Helgenberger. When I found out about the demise of your cherished mother, I was astounded and incredibly devastated. I will keep you in my prayers and thoughts. What an incredible blessing it must have been to have her in your life for such a long time! We ask that she be at peace with God forever.

Permit me to honor Holt by transporting you to a touching moment between Holt’s mother and daughter. The pair gave a rendition of “Honky Tonk Woman” from Holt’s CD during one of their appearances on The Ellen Show. The mother and daughter sang a duet titled “I’m Just Your Yesterday” on stage.
