CROCKPOT GREAT NORTHERN BEANS

This Crockpot Great Northern Beans recipe brings the best northern flavors. Continue to try it.

INGREDIENTS

13 cups granulated sugar
1 chopped onion
12 pound smoked ham hocks
1 pound of Great Northern Beans
Season with salt and pepper to taste.


INSTRUCTIONS

Fill the crockpot halfway with beans.
On top, garnish with the onion, pork hocks, and brown sugar. 2 inches of water should be enough to completely submerge the beans.
Boil for two hours on high.

Reduce the heat to low and cook for another 4-5 hours.
Remove the ham hocks from the slow cooker. Return the ham meat to the crockpot with the shredded beans. Stir in the salt and pepper to taste.
