Every 48 million births, it happens once!

The tale of Lucy Marie Perkins’ birth is more remarkable than astonishing. It’s more than just unlikely. It affects one out of every 48 million people.

Tuesday night saw the birth of Lucy, the first child of Caitlin and Tom Perkins.

The husband and wife team of Tom and Caitlin, both of whom were born on August 16, 1986, are both extraordinary people in their own way.

But Little Perkins, who wanted to take part in the celebration 30 years later, seemed to think that sharing his birthday with his parents wasn’t enough.

“HOLD ONTO THE TELEPHONE!” Dr. Brad Robinson, Caitlin’s obstetrician, posted the following account on his Facebook page on Wednesday.

Who else is now celebrating a birthday on August 16th, can you guess? YEP. Lucy was born yesterday, the same day as her parents, after SPONTANEOUS labor.

Ah, yes. The likelihood of the mother, the parents, and the infant all having the same birthday is one in 48 million.

Right on time, right on time, right on time More than a week had passed since Mum should have given delivery when this happened.

Lucy made the decision to enter the world before Caitlin and Tom, who are from Dirranbandi in South West Queensland, could even attend their joint 30th birthday dinner.

Caitlin went into labor early on Tuesday and was taken to Brisbane’s Greenslopes Private Hospital.

“When my waters broke, I said, ‘No way,’ because I was in denial,” the woman claimed.

Bub, however, was impatient and arrived on Tuesday at a healthy 39 weeks and 6:45 p.m.

Dr. Robinson, who has more than ten years of experience in the field, said it was one of the most memorable days of his life.

I’m fortunate enough to have a career where I have extraordinary days on special days, he said, adding that today was fantastic.

You don’t wake up excited to answer the phone at 2:15 in the morning every day. However, the midwife called at 2:15 a.m. to let me know Caitlin had ruptured her waters. I was thrilled because I had been working hard to get it.

Wow.

There is little doubt that the Perkins will throw a fantastic party on August 16 every year.
