He died after suffering a fatal hiking accident in Utah

Kevin Passidomo, the husband of Florida Senate President Kathleen Passidomo, died in a hiking accident in Utah.

Early Monday afternoon, John Passidomo, 72, was out for a walk with Utah’s Senate President in the huge Bryce Canyon National Park when tragedy struck.

Wednesday, Kathleen Passidomo, president of the Florida Senate, confirmed that her husband had died and talked about the moment she lost the love of her life.

John, who was a successful lawyer and the first gentleman of Florida, fell and hurt his head badly. He also got other serious injuries.

An ambulance took him to a nearby hospital, and then he was flown to a trauma center in the region.

Doctors told Passidomo that her husband would not live after 24 hours of care and evaluation.

They quickly flew to the hospital with their three daughters to say goodbye to him before he died peacefully Wednesday afternoon.

His office said in a statement, “The president has lost the love of her life and is completely devastated by this sudden and unexpected accident.”

It’s not clear what caused him to fall, but his office said he was in great health when he died.

What a great adventure!
It was going to be 45 years of marriage for the Passidomos in September when the accident happened.

The two met at Stetson University College of Law in DeLand, Florida, which is an hour north of Orlando. That’s where they got married.

John and Kathleen Passidomo’s office said that their trip to Bryce Canyon was just one of many “great adventures” they had together.

“Their last few days together were marked by many special moments, beautiful, scenery, and wonderful reflections on their lifetime together and plans to live out their golden years watching their grandchildren grow up,” the statement said.

While on X, which used to be Twitter, Ron DeSantis wrote about the first gentleman of Florida: “Casey DeSantis and I are deeply saddened to hear the passing of John Passidomo.”

“Our hearts go out to Kathleen and her family as they deal with this loss.”

He also said, “He was a good man, and we are praying for the Passidomo family.”

Janet Passidomo, John’s wife, their three daughters (Catarina, Francesca, and Gabriella), and their two grandsons will miss him.
