Steven Seagal’s martial arts prowess has been questioned by Charlize Theron, who has performed her own stunts in a number of action movies. Seagal is a well-known character in the world of martial arts.
Charlize Theron has criticized fellow actor Steven Seagal, saying that “he is not very polite to women” and that she does not think he is as good in martial arts as he pretends to be.
The 44-year-old actress said she watches ancient combat movies to get ready for her action flicks when promoting her most recent one, The Old Guard, on Howard Stern’s radio show. She added that while preparing for her action flicks, she frequently encountered one of Steven Seagal’s movies, in which the actor claimed to hold a black belt in karate.
“I’ll watch fighters or people fight online at night, and you constantly come across that bizarre Seagal video of him ‘fighting,’ but he actually isn’t, in Japan,” she stated. “When I say ‘fighting,’ I really mean he’s in Japan,” you say.
To put it more bluntly, she continued, “He is incredibly overweight and aggressive.” His size makes it challenging for him to compete. Look at it; it’s utterly absurd. He is pushing them while grabbing them by the face. For it, everything is ready.
The Mad Max: Fury Road actress said, “I have no problem talking s— about him because he’s not particularly friendly to women so f— you!” in response to her criticism of Seagal, 68.
In response to PEOPLE’s request for a statement, a spokesperson for Seagal did not immediately respond.
Past inquiries into Seagal’s treatment of female characters have generated complaints.
Many women, including Portia de Rossi, Julianna Margulies, Jenny McCarthy, and Inside Edition contributor Lisa Guerrero, have accused the actor of sexual harassment and other wrongdoing.
Moreover, Regina Simons, an extra in his 1994 movie On Deadly Ground, accused him of rape in 2018. She allegedly claimed that the alleged rape occurred in 1993 when Seagal brought her to a wrap party for the movie at his Beverly Hills home when she was 18 years old, according to TheWrap. The celebration marked the end of the movie’s filming.
In a statement posted on Instagram, Dutch model Faviola Dadis accuses actress Portia de Rossi of abusing her at a 2002 audition. De Rossi had previously leveled her own accusations against the actor before this.
None of the allegations made against Seagal are supported by a single piece of evidence.
