While working on the set of the television series Dallas, Patrick Duffy discovered that his parents, Marie and Terence Duffy, had been murdered in 1986 on the premises of the Montana bar they ran.

Two youths, Kenneth Miller and Sean Wentz, were recognized as the perpetrators of the armed robbery and were immediately caught. They were each given a sentence of 180 years in jail for their crimes, but after Wentz admitted that he was the gunman, Miller was released the next year.
