Celebrities from all around Hollywood have shared their feelings in the wake of Stephen “tWitch” Boss’ sudden passing. He died by suicide when he was 40 years old.
The former Ellen DeGeneres Show DJ’s wife, Allison Holker Boss, confirmed the news in a touching message delivered on Wednesday.
Allison, 34, said of her husband, “I have to tell my spouse Stephen has left us with the heaviest of hearts.” When Stephen entered a room, it became more illuminated. He placed the highest priority on his community, family, and friends.

He firmly thought that the best course of action was to lead with love and light. He was our family’s rock, the best husband and father, and an example to all who followed him.
It would be an understatement to say that he left a legacy, and his positive impact will endure. There won’t be a day that goes by that we don’t think of him, I’m sure of that.
A-listers in Hollywood shared their sorrow as soon as word of the So You Think You Can Dance judge’s passing spread.

The creator and judge of the program, Nigel Lythgoe, expressed his “heartbreak and grief” and said he was “at a loss to understand how someone as adored and inspirational to so many people as Stephen was would feel they are in such a dark place that they have no choice but to take their life.”
He said, “With Twitch, it’s inexplicable to me. He constantly had a smile on his face. Everyone he met thought highly of him. The dance community will have a terrible day today, but his wife Allison, and their children are in my thoughts and prayers.
We must understand that mental illness is a serious issue that frequently goes unnoticed by our loved ones. Even though it’s a joyful time of year for most of us, some people seem to be more tense or upset than usual.
Another SYTYCD alumna Tiffany Maher told PEOPLE, “My heart is devastated. Stephen “Twitch” is a prime illustration. He was very inspiring and friendly. I’m glad I got to meet him. He will always be missed and remembered. We are thinking of and praying for Allison and their kids.
We will never forget Stephen “tWitch” Boss because of the love and happiness he brought into our lives and the lives of so many people, according to Fox Entertainment, 19 Entertainment, and Dick Clark Productions to PEOPLE. We lament the loss of such a wonderful, unquestionable talent and close friend together with his family, loved ones, and admirers. You will be missed, “tWitch.”
Boss’ mentor, Dr. Tommie Tonea Stewart, also sent a statement to PEOPLE lamenting his passing. “A talented man who had a great heart and a lot of fans and admirers who adored him passed away today. When Stephen smiled, it was contagious and sincere, and it made everyone around him happy. Notwithstanding our regret over Stephen’s passing, his kindness and energy will live on in the arts and our hearts.
On social media, condolences flooded in as well. In response to the shocking news, Ellen DeGeneres sent a touching message and an image of the pair cuddling.
I’m devastated because tWitch was nothing but love and sunshine. A post was made on Instagram. He was my family, so all I could do was adore him. His absence will be felt deeply. Please send Allison and his three lovely children, Weslie, Maddox, and Zaia, your love and support.
With the caption “I was heartbroken to learn about the passing of Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss, who I got to know over the years through my Let’s Move! Initiative and visits to The Ellen Show,” former First Lady of the United States Michelle Obama posted an Instagram photo of Boss’s family.
“Stephen was a lively individual who made sure that everyone in his presence experienced the kindness and joy he radiated. He breathed life into every dance, DJ set, and artistic endeavor. My deepest sympathies are extended to his wife Allison and their three children Weslie, Maddox, and Zaia. “If you’re hurting and need someone to talk to, please know that you are never alone.
