Legendary singer passed away today

Mike Pinder, bassist for THE MOODY Blues, died at the age of 82.

It comes months after Denny Laine, the other original bandmate who is still alive, died.

Guitarist John Lodge of the Moody Blues and Mike’s family both confirmed that the keyboardist died on Wednesday in Northern California.

In an Instagram post about Mike’s death, Laine’s wife Elizabeth shared a picture of the keyboardist playing “Go Now!” on the piano.

She wrote, “Very sad news: the last original member of the Moody Blues has died.”

“He is now reunited with Denny, Ray, Graeme and Clint; what a joyous reunion that must be.”

She left a note that said, “Rest in peace and give my Denny a hug.”

Fans expressed their sorrow in the post’s comments.

“Oh no!” wrote one person. Michael, rest in peace!”

“So sad to hear that, but now they’re together playing these beautiful songs,” said someone else.

Another person said, “RIP” and “such a gifted person.”

In a Facebook post on Thursday, Lodge and The Moody Blues said that Mike had died.

It said, “All the love possible goes out from the Lodge family to Mike’s family today.”

Mike’s family said nice things about Lodge and The Moody Blues in a separate statement.

Michael’s family wanted his close friends and fans to know that he died peacefully, as it said in the tribute.

“His final days were filled with music, encircled by the love of his family.”

The statement went on to say, “Michael lived his life with the wonder of a child, on a path of deep reflection that united the mind and the heart.”

From this spiritually stable place, he made music and shared his message with the world. As he always said, “Keep your head above the clouds, but keep your feet on the ground.”

“Everyone who met him felt better because of his true essence.” His lyrics, philosophy, and view of people and their place in the universe will have an impact on many generations to come.

The cause of death has not been found yet.

Laine passed away on December 5, 2023, four months ago.

Daniel was born to Mike’s first wife Donna Roth. He also had two sons with his second wife Tara Lee. Their names are Matt and Michael.

He has three sons, and all of them play music.
