Linda Thompson, who dated Elvis Presley from 1972 to 1976, recently came upon photos of Lisa Marie Presley as a little child.
On Wednesday, Thompson, 72, shared pictures of the late musician as a young child on Instagram.
She noted in her description that time seemed to slow down as she looked through these precious Polaroids. “Like many of you, I’ve been doing some spring cleaning and came found this old photo album.
The first three pictures in the Instagram carousel were characterized by Thompson as “Little ‘Yisa Marisa,’ as I remember her so sweetly. She was a lovely young lady! She was six years old when she was photographed and had just lost her two front teeth.
“Snaggle Puss,” the third Polaroid picture in the set, was captured in November 1974. It honors a young Lisa Marie who had two lost front teeth at the time.
Since we had such a lovely relationship for so many years and since she still has a particular place in my heart, she asked me to take some pictures of her in my dressing room at the Monovale house, Thompson continued.
In the fourth photograph, a young Lisa Marie is seen unwinding on top of a boat in Lake Tahoe in 1973, her head resting on the shoulders of Dee.
The sixth image of Lisa Marie has her huddled over Thompson and several other females in front of a Christmas tree that same year while she is dressed in pajamas.
Riley Keough, a star in Daisy Jones & the Six, an Amazon Prime series that Thompson recommended: “If you haven’t watched it, you must! It’s fantastic! I’m not sure how many of you are watching or have done the same as I did with binge-viewing.
The final line of Thompson’s caption read, “Lisa’s beautiful, talented daughter carries on her striking, forceful, compelling presence. Riley’s facial expressions have so many subtle nuances that make me think of her lovely mother.
Lisa Marie, 54, died away on January 12. She is survived by her mother, the 77-year-old actress and businesswoman Priscilla Presley, as well as her three daughters, ages 14 each Riley, Finley, and Harper Lockwood, and a granddaughter. Lisa Marie’s son Benjamin Keough, who committed suicide at the age of 27, passed away before her in 2020.
Thompson expressed to PEOPLE that she was “extremely saddened and stunned” upon her passing. Over the years, Lisa and I had sporadic contact; our most recent exchange was a text message in which she left me with the message, “Love you, Linda.”
Thompson continued, “There will always be a special place in my heart for the young Lisa Marie, age 9, who had the insight to call me from Graceland on the awful day her father passed away to tell me the news.
If there is any solace to be found right now, it’s in my knowledge that Lisa Marie was certain I loved her and her father, without reservation and any agenda, she continued. “In fact, if there is any solace to be found right now, it’s in my knowledge that Lisa Marie was certain I loved her and her daddy, without reservation and any agenda.”
