My Arrogant New Neighbors Made My Pristine Lawn Their Parking Lot – I May Be Old, but My Revenge Was Ruthless

New neighbors expected Edna, an elderly widow, to put up with the intrusion when they parked their truck on her orderly yard. But Edna was fiercely protective of the house she and her late husband built; she was not going to let them take over without a fight.

Here we raised our two children and watched them mature before sending them off to begin their own families. Every blade of grass in our yard reminds me of the life we lived, even if it is just the two of us now. Living in this house more than 50 years, I am Edna. Here all of my memories of my late husband Harold are kept. Through tree planting and hedge cutting, he made sure our small patch of land was perfect.

Still visiting regularly is our son Tom. He is a fantastic young man; he always makes sure the yard is mowed and the gutters are clear. “You shouldn’t have to worry about this stuff, Mom,” he says in his gentle yet confident voice. Understanding he has his own family and a rigorous work schedule, I nod and smile. I try not to always grumble since I want not to annoy him.

The house is quiet right now because it has been since Harold passed away. Still, it’s my refuge, loaded with love and memories. Being quiet is lovely; having a nice blanket across my shoulders helps. That is, in fact, anything. Four weeks ago, new neighbors moved in next door. A young pair loud and energetic. At initially, I had no problem. I have watched a lot of people come and go over years. Still, these neighbors are different from the others. One morning, while sipping my tea at the window, I came upon something that crushed my heart.

In the center of my lawn was parked a large, gleaming pickup vehicle. The grass was torn apart by deep tire imprints. My lovely, immaculate grass was destroyed. With a mixture of bewilderment and rage in my heart, I grabbed my cane and staggered outside. When I approached, the spouse emerged. Her tall stature, sultry features, and haughty demeanor caused my blood to boil. I said, trying not to stutter, “Excuse me. “There’s your truck on my grass. Would you kindly move it?
