The weatherman once revealed to his audience that he had been hospitalized because blood clots were found in his body.
He has therefore been missing from our screens for a long time.
Al Roker shared a tweet with a picture of flowers and some information about his health concerns.
“So many of you have been thoughtfully asking where I’ve been,” he began his statement. Last week, a blood clot in my leg that had traveled to my lungs required hospitalization.
“I consider myself incredibly fortunate to be receiving superb medical attention and to be recovering after some medical whack-a-mole. We value your prayers and well wishes and look forward to seeing you soon. Have a great weekend, everyone.
Many of you have naively asked where I am. I was hospitalized last week as a result of a blood clot that began in my leg and eventually progressed to my lungs. After playing medical whack-a-mole, I’m relieved to be receiving superb treatment at last and progressing with my rehabilitation. The TV star has a history of health issues. He admitted to having prostate cancer two years prior and having surgery. He underwent numerous surgeries as a result of hip and knee issues.
Roker has been a broadcaster since the middle of the 1970s, and his newscasts have won numerous accolades. Despite numerous health issues, he recently finished the Brooklyn Half Marathon.

Al Roker’s return to the Today Show after a health fight
After being hospitalized for blood clots for two months, Al Roker made his way back to the Today show.
The newscaster and his wife, ABC News writer Deborah Roberts, discussed the severity of his “frightening” condition in a recent interview.
Al’s presence here is a very significant development, as we are all aware, Roberts said. “His continued existence is a miracle. He really is. I have to emphasize that I’m not exaggerating when I say that Al was a very, very, very sick man; I think most people were not aware of that.
She predicted that it would take some time before doctors fully understood her husband’s illness. She claimed that it needed a team to figure out what was happening. His medical status remained a mystery for a few weeks. And that was the craziest, scariest voyage we’ve ever taken.
