Regarding the family’s assets and ownership of the Las Vegas business that is the focus of the long-running reality TV program, Rick Harrison’s mother reportedly launched a lawsuit against her son.
According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Joanne Harrison filed a civil lawsuit on behalf of Harrison’s counsel with the Nevada state court.
Rick Harrison, the proprietor of the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop, as well as the corporations Harrison Properties and JoRich Properties, have been named as defendants in this case.
Rick Harrison reportedly told a local newspaper, “The claims are unfounded, and I believe people are taking advantage of my mother, who is 81 years old.”

According to the lawsuit for breach of contract, Joanne Harrison was married to the late Richard Harrison, also known as “The Old Man” on the show, for 58 years before he passed away. Richard Harrison played The Elderly Man in the program.
While his mother was in the hospital in either 2000 or 2001, one of the couple’s three sons, Rick Harrison, is accused of using undue influence to get her to grant him the 51% ownership interest in the pawn store.
The location served as the backdrop for a 2009 History Channel episode with Austin “Chumlee” Russell, a close family friend, and Richard Corey Harrison, a grandchild of the Harrison family.
According to the lawsuit, Joanne Harrison took over Richard Harrison’s 49 percent ownership stake in the pawn store after he passed away in 2018. Richard Harrison passed away in 2018. Nevertheless, Rick Harrison hasn’t provided her with any particularly detailed proof regarding the company’s financial operations.
Also, according to Joanne Harrison, despite numerous attempts, she has not been able to obtain an exact accounting of the more than $500,000 in cash and silver that her husband is claimed to have accumulated before his passing.
This complaint seeks an order banning Rick Harrison from having access to Joanne Harrison’s funds, specific monetary damages, an asset accounting, and “a constructive trust” over Joanne Harrison’s property. The complaint also asks the court to enjoin Rick Harrison from using Joanne Harrison’s money.
