Sally has regularly spoken about her feelings on the ageism in the entertainment industry problem, which largely impacts women and is a hotly debated subject. Negative judgment and unjust expectations of women, particularly in terms of physical appearance, have been spread through the media and the internet. Female public figures and celebrities, especially those who are aging, are subject to severe criticism and allegations that they are attempting to conceal their age through cosmetic operations.
According to an interview she gave to Good Housekeeping in 2009, Sally has always been apprehensive to have any kind of surgery.
“When I catch a glimpse of myself on television, I lament the fact that my neck is suffering. And your eyes are so swollen, and your face is sagging. However, as I look at some of the women (who have undergone plastic surgery), I realize how lovely I thought they were when they were younger. I’m now thinking, Oh no, don’t do that! And that appears to be a grave disdain for who they are right now.

Sally has maintained a successful career throughout the years and has landed roles, even though they may not be as significant as the ones she had when she was younger. Her viewpoint on the subject of ageism has not altered as a result, though.
In a 2019 NPR interview for her movie “Hello, My Name is Doris,” Sally talked about her age and how she has adjusted to the changes brought on by aging.
Sally remarked at the time, “I’m an elderly woman, 70 is ancient, and that’s OK. “I’ve built strength on the shoulders of my years; I owned them; I’ve earned them; I’ve merited them; I have a right to have them. Additionally, I don’t like my neck and a lot of other stuff, but it’s alright.
Sally has an undiagnosed medical problem that has affected the way she looks, but many others are unaware of it. Sally said that she had long thought that she was at risk for the condition in an interview with WebMD in 2006, a year after she had publicly revealed that she has osteoporosis.

I was approaching my 60th birthday, Caucasian, small-boned, and frail. However, I was astounded at how quickly osteoporosis might progress in a woman from being at risk to being fully developed.
According to the National Health Institute, osteoporosis is a common illness that develops when bone mass and density decrease. Being that estrogen is crucial for maintaining bone density, it is important to note that this condition is brought on by the drop in estrogen levels that women experience as they approach menopause.
Sally has consequently experienced blowback on social media for her appearance, with others calling her “ugly,” “disgusting,” and making fun of her for looking droopy. The Academy Award-winning performer didn’t let the criticism stop her; instead, she discovered strength, self-assurance, and support from her loved ones.
Peter Craig and Eli Craig, the couple’s two boys, were born in 1968 after Sally married Steven Craig. Eli pursued a career as an actor and director, while Peter later rose to popularity as a screenwriter. Sadly, the pair split up in 1975. Sally began seeing Burt Reynolds after a while, but she wed Alan Greisman in 1984 instead. Sam Greisman was their son, and they got divorced in 1994.

“My sons are the three things in my life of which I am most proud. They are decent, loving, and successful individuals. Sally gushed to Closer Weekly, “Each has their own list of abilities and accomplishments.
After downsizing her Malibu home, Sally now lives in a $2.3 million ocean-view estate in the Los Angeles gated neighborhood of Pacific Palisades with her five grandchildren.
