She desires a place in history “for the depths I have come”

Former teenage music diva Connie Francis’ 85-year-old face exhibits signs of aging and melancholy. Even so, she still possesses the same stunning lips from 1958, when she sang “Who’s Sorry Now?”

Francis, a Newark, New Jersey native who stood 1.56 m tall, was well-known for frequently donning false eyelashes and stiletto heels.

With “the largest gathering of lifetime friends and those closest to me,” Francis celebrated turning 85, and she looked magnificent.

Francis became famous after “Who’s Sorry Now,” one of her songs, was released. The 1960s saw her achieve popularity with a number of singles, including “Everybody’s Somebody’s Fool,” “Heartaches by the Number,” and “Lipstick on Your Collar.”

She had the advantage of celebrity, but grief still haunted her.

The best-selling female vocalist of the era, Francis, and Bobby Darin, the most well-known male performer of the 1960s, fell in love. Since he penned many of the songs she performed, they fell in love to such a depth that she later declared, “Bobby was my first and last love.”

In an interview with FOX News, Francis talks about her long-lasting relationship with Darin and the moment of infatuation that triggered his flight response.

“Bobby came to my office one day in 1956 to present me with a song,” she remarked. He was creating jingles for a New Jersey-based furniture company. I heard this song, which I slightly altered. Assume he was dissatisfied.

The man declared, “This lady and I don’t dance to the same song.” I’m leaving. He then began to sing again and walk away. However, he did bring the modifications I made. But the hostility was quickly replaced by love.

But their romance was doomed from the start.

Francis’ cantankerous and demanding Italian father was outraged by the developing relationship, and he eventually pushed Darin away from Francis.

My father despised him so much, Francis remarked. He nevertheless “tried to shoot him.” When he arrived, he had a gun in his pocket. Bobby also has a fragile heart.

After Darin passed away, Francis lauded him, saying, “He was a beautiful human being.” the most fascinating person I’ve ever met. I had never seen someone with the kind of tenacity he did.

At the age of 37, the gifted actor and entertainer passed away in 1973. His performances of “Splish Splash,” “Mack the Knife,” “Dream Lover,” and “Beyond the Sea” will live in the memory of everyone who heard them.

Darin received a Golden Globe nomination for his performance in Come September, his debut motion picture, along with Sandra Dee, another teenage star, whom he married in 1960.

While being closely observed by her father, Francis was working tirelessly on her job at the same time.

She first donated her voice to actors and actresses like Jayne Mansfield in The Sheriff of Fractured Jaw (1958), and it wasn’t until Hollywood saw her in a major part that they gave her the opportunity to sing the well-known song Where the Boys Are.

She continued performing in films up until her last one, When the Boys Met the Girls, which was released in 1965. But she was never a really good actor.

She said, “I didn’t feel comfortable; I felt like I didn’t belong there. Regarding her final film, she stated, “I was extremely happy it was my last one.

After Darin, she dated blue-eyed performers Don Rickles and Frank Sinatra.

Before opting to settle down with Joseph Garzilli, Francis had previously been married four times and divorced twice; they had one child together after just one year of marriage. After a concert in New York in 1974, a man broke into her motel room, and during that marriage, he raped her.

Francis spent the following seven years living alone and dependent on Darvon after the horrifying incident, which caused him to experience extreme sadness.

As a result of her difficulty singing in air-conditioned settings, she underwent nasal surgery in 1977. She exhibited minimal progress after three more treatments, and she remained mute for the following four years.

She was just ready to make a comeback when her brother, George A. Franconero, a former district attorney and government witness, was shot and killed in front of his house in what the police are calling a “mob killing.”

Francis’ 2017 book, Among My Souvenirs, captures the highs and lows of her life and profession in a frank and open manner.

In 2022, she lost her 18-year partner Tony Ferretti; the two had sung “You Made Me Love You” together.

She stated how she wanted her current life to be remembered, not so much for the heights I have attained, but more for the depths from which I have come.

She wants A Florida resident who is originally from New Jersey to write “I hope I did good” on her gravestone. To commemorate turning 85, she donned a short navy blue kaftan with beautiful yellow flowers printed on it. She also had neatly done hair, red lipstick, and practical low-heeled sandals on.

Connie Francis performed brilliantly in our opinion. She has devoted her life to fighting for mental health in order to aid other victims of violence because of her horrible upbringing.
