An Indian doctor is pleased with the fact that over the course of his career, he was able to effectively remove an amazing 11,950 gallstones from only one patient. This may perhaps establish a new world record, right?

A woman went to the hospital for treatment because her stomach problems had gotten so bad they were unpleasant. In an effort to identify the issue, the doctor started her in-depth examination, but he was surprised by what he discovered.

Minati Mondal, 51, underwent a historic operation in which gastrointestinal endo surgeon Dr. Makhan Lala Saha had to remove stones from the patient’s gall bladder. It was a first-of-its-kind surgery.

Mondal has been experiencing persistent stomach aches for more than two months. She had to be rushed to the hospital, where the doctors found that she had significant gallstone issues.

The woman’s operation was carried out by Dr. Saha, who claimed that although he had expected to find many stones, he was shocked to learn that there were about 5,000 in total. The treatment took roughly an hour, and the nurses had to count the stones that were taken out of the patient’s body for more than four hours. The size of the stones varied from 2mm to 5mm.

This amount of stones extracted might break a current world record. The doctor stated that after more investigation, he had found that the only figure even nearly comparable was 3,110 stones that had been removed from a German patient’s gall bladder in the United Kingdom in 1983.

The doctor, however, believes that he has greatly exceeded this amount.

Mondal was taken home to recover after the procedure and was then discharged from the hospital.

Small stones called gallstones can develop in the gallbladder. Cholesterol is a common component of these stones. Despite the fact that the majority of those who have this ailment will not exhibit any symptoms and will not require treatment, it is estimated that one in ten people will be afflicted.
