When Tammy Slaton told her family she was engaged, she did not get the reaction she had hoped for.
In an exclusive footage from the episode of 1000-Lb Sisters that was made available to PEOPLE on Tuesday, the 36-year-old woman contacts her family to tell them that she got engaged to her now-husband Caleb Willingham. At the Windsor Lane Rehabilitation Center in Gibsonburg, Ohio, where the couple first met, Tammy had been focusing on her goal to reduce weight.
Tammy continues, “I’m not sure how they’re going to react, but I really hope that they’re going to be happy for me. “I sincerely hope they’ll be happy for me,” “I’m anxious,”

In the video, Tammy breaks the news to her siblings Chris, Amy, Amanda, and Misty while they are all on FaceTime. She told her siblings about the proposal and showed them her ring, and at first, they all sat quietly, puzzled. But when she told them what was going on, they all burst out laughing.
When asked about the past, Amanda replies, “Well, I mean, I noticed on social media that you had a boyfriend but that was just a couple of weeks ago,” indicating that she is aware of it.
Amy utters the phrase “what the f—” in a confessional. In all honesty, I thought Tammy was joking. She has agreed to get married to a total stranger.
She continues, recalling a time when Tammy once confessed her love to a man an hour after meeting him. “But then again, she’s always loved hard and loved fast,” she says. She adds, “But then again, she’s always loved fast and hard. “I’m not going to sugarcoat it; I was in your shoes once. Nonetheless, I developed with time.
Amy inquired as to Tammy’s relationship with Caleb and Tammy stated that she and Caleb have been dating for a month and are making arrangements to wedding in two weeks. Amy then inquired as to Tammy’s relationship with Tammy. Amanda said, “Tammy is leaving the relationship too soon,” despite Misty shaking her head in agreement.
Are you f—ing kidding me, two weeks? says Amanda. Why would you rush into anything? That is not justified in any way. It’s only that I’d really appreciate it if you could tell me your first, middle, and last names before my sister goes and takes your surname.
